Pacific Playgrounds is situated between Courtenay and Campbell River at the mouth of the Oyster River. There are cabins and RVs for rent as well as a working marina with sail boats and fishing boats.
Our RV had all the supplies that we needed. Many games of crib were played, mom usually won.
But we are used to that.
Our cozy kitchen
Alex and our niece Leigh-Ann with their baby Kiele.
Keith with his lovely sister Joy.
Chip and I went on many walks to the beach.
Sunflowers are especially meaningful these days due to the invasion of Ukraine.
Just like at home, Mom got out every day for a walk.
There were many salmon in the river. It is time to spawn but the river is quite low in places. In Victoria we have had only 2 millimetres of rain since mid July, they have had perhaps a wee bit more in this area.
The Canada Geese were plentiful and noisy!
The resort is very clean with lots of beautiful flowers.
The Hellingers left after spending 1 full week here so we are on our own.
As usual Mom is beating us at cribbage.
While here the Hellingers hosted us at a campfire behind the cabin that Leigh-Ann and Alex had rented plus a feast of a breakfast the next morning.
In return we put on a simple spaghetti dinner, especially simple for me since Keith was the one that premade the sauce and made sure we had garlic bread and a dessert.
Terrible hair day for me but I LOVE this photo as Chip is looking right into the lens.
We enjoyed the sunset on our last night there.
Mom and I went out one night to view the plentiful stars, something we do not get to see living in amongst the city lights.
