Escape to the Country

Spring wanted a photo of the row houses near our B & B. She is so not on the smart phone bandwagon. Not only does she still use her alarm clock from 1976, she does not have a cell phone (smart or otherwise), nor does she have a camera. I admire her disdain of electronics except when (at home) we are attempting to meet up and are dealing with last minute glitches.

Christ Church College and Cathedral

The Pub where C S Lewis and J R R Tolkein hung out together.
Unfortunately it was still closed.
Sometimes it does not pay to be the early bird.

Waiting for the bus to Swinford Bridge.
OMG it Poured!
We arrived at our next stop, very soggy travelers.

Swinford Manor Farm Bed and Breakfast
Just 20 minutes bus ride west of Oxford
It is also on the Thames River.
I do not usually show our bedrooms but look at the beams and the character in these rooms. We get 1 room each! But share the bathroom.
The original part of the house was built in the 1500s with additions in the 1700s.

To the pub for dinner.
To The River Thames, under a bridge ...
Cross a muddy field
Over a lock...

And then a weir
Next a couple of cow pastures

Then finally arrive to the cosy neighbourhood pub.
Spring really like the cider.

And we both enjoyed comfort food for dinner.
Not that we needed comforting
All is grand.

In the Bed and Breakfast grounds
They run a large glampsite with yerts
As well as several cabins and about 6 rooms in the large main dwelling.

Nite nite
