Day 2 Santiago de Compostela to Muxia.
Awake at 6:30, "breakfast" down the street and we're off.
I was feeling tired although I had had a great long sleep.
As soon as we left the city we started a good long climb... which is always great for warming us up. The views were lovely.
Forget-Me-Not
Nice to know this dainty little flower's name translates directly in German.
Vergissmeinnicht
It is such an appropriate name to symbolize a camino.
Martina
We stopped for coffee at the 1st bar we came to which was about 8 kms.
Danielle and I enjoying cake and tea/coffee.
Hetty and Sandy from Switzerland.
We have been traveling with them for at least a couple of weeks and we often seem to stay at the same albergues.
More wind turbines.
They are very plentiful here.
There have been thistles all along the camino since Seville.
An example of the way today.
Walking on asphalt is not our favourite, luckily there was not much of it today.
More lovely views.
Such a pleasant walk today!!!
Danielle and I stopped for a small lunch beside the way.
Still gorgeous. I am loving the plentiful wildflowers.
As we approached the tiny village of Santa Mariña we noticed these poor cows inside a large barn.
To our albergue
We 3 all got bottom bunks!
A very good day indeed!
Clean and well run, only 12€.
We spent the warm evening outside enjoying drinks, talking to the other pilgrims and then eating a delicious dinner. This albergue and last night's albergue both have a bar/restaurant attached that serves dinner whenever we want to eat ... no waiting for 8pm or even later for dinner.
There are about 4 houses in this village but there is a church.
With a very full cemetery.
We have not been bothered by bugs at all, here there have been a few flies. Have not seen any mosquitoes at all!
We are half way to Muxia.
This is such a pretty camino.
So happy that I chose to walk it.
