We set off a little after 8am from Santiago de Compostela. We are taking four days of around 20kms each to walk to Muxia on the north coast.
The Cathedral of SdC in the distance.
A first for me.
A vending machine on the camino.
If only it "vended" a toilet!
It has been while since we have seen a Roman bridge.
This is in a small village named Pontemaceiro.
The way today was very busy with pilgrims. The 1st cafe was at 13kms and it was packed. One busy employee served the precooked food, made the coffees and took the cash.
It was fortunate that we had some tortilla Espanol there as there was a killer hill as soon as we started walking.
The weather was perfect with a high of about 22 degrees.
We zigzagged through nice residential neighbourhoods, farmland, forest and small villages making the walk very pleasant.
Another wonderful day.
The albergue is modern and will likely be full. Time to set out to explore this town.
Later: not much to report.
I attempted to walk down by the stream but not very nice and anyway the way was blocked by a bunch of teen boys.
Back to the albergue to visit with fellow pilgrims.
