Gorgeous Salamanca

We had a great sleep and a relaxed breakfast in the Morille Albergue.
Our boots and socks had dried over the heater and no rain is predicted.
An easy track took us 10 kms to coffee at the small village of Miranda de Azan.

Coffee break and the first Internet in 2 days. Keith had been worried as he could not track my phone. The same thing is likely to happen again ad we stay in very small out of the way villages.

The cathedral in Salamanca is absolutely breathtaking when you first catch a glimpse of it.
And closeup is even more impressive.

Arriving at the Plaza Mayor we find old camino friends. Lonny reconnects with Horst who she had walked with for several days. With him was Femia and Arnold who I had been with at the German dinner of a week ago. I love meeting fellow pilgrims and then meeting them again days later. There is always lots to catch up on.

Salamanca is a very impressive city with ancient imposing buildings at every turn. We have one more night here so I eagerly anticipate getting to know this city tomorrow.

Tonight we are sleeping in the Youth Hostel. Since it is Friday night there were few choices. Robert and Anne from Australia found this vacancy and booked for the 5 of us. We got a small room for 6 instead of the huge dormitory. It is 10pm, we have just arrived back as we are tired. There is some sort of sports team here that are very very noisy. Hopefully they will quiet down soon.

Oh and Salamanca is about the half way point on The Via de la Plata.
